1961 Ford Truck Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Plate, United States Built.

Consecutive Unit Number

    A uniform serial number has been developed to provide a means of identifying annual model year programs and extend production cycles of five or more years without the use of the current model year designation. Basically the system requires the monthly assignment of serial numbers into blocks.
